Terms & conditions
Effective October 17, 2026
These terms govern your use of SoundStack, a browser app for uploading, recording, mixing, and sharing audio.
1. Using SoundStack
By using SoundStack, you agree to these terms. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use the service for an organization, you must have authority to act for it. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Your account
Provide an email address you control, keep your login details secure, and take responsibility for activity you authorize through your account. Do not access someone else’s account or bypass the service’s security or usage limits.
3. Your audio and rights
You keep ownership of your audio, recordings, and other content. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to upload, record, use, and share it, including permissions from performers and anyone whose voice you record.
You give SoundStack a non-exclusive permission to store, process, reproduce, and transmit your content only as needed to provide the features you use, maintain the service, and meet legal obligations. Enabling a sharing link authorizes delivery of the shared audio and notes to people who have that link. This does not transfer ownership of your work to SoundStack.
4. Sharing links
A shared stack can be accessed by anyone with its link, without an account. Listeners can play, adjust their own mix, and export audio. Share only content you intend to make accessible this way.
You can turn off link sharing in the studio. This blocks new requests through the shared player. Audio someone has already loaded, downloaded, or recorded cannot be recalled. Receiving a link does not give a listener copyright ownership or a license to redistribute the audio.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use SoundStack to infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, distribute unlawful content, harass others, upload malicious files, interfere with the service, or evade access controls. We may restrict access or remove content when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security issues, or legal requirements.
6. Saving and availability
Local stacks are saved in your browser. Browser storage can be cleared or evicted. Save stack uploads a snapshot to your account; later edits require another cloud save. Keep independent copies of important audio.
Cloud accounts are limited to 1 GB of audio, 1,000 files, and 100 stacks. Shared audio downloads have a 5 GB daily budget per owner, with request rate limits and project-wide caps to prevent abuse. Usage limits and availability may change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, compatibility with every browser or audio format, or recovery of lost content. Microphone timing depends on your browser and device.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy policy explains the information SoundStack processes, including account information, uploaded audio, recordings, and browser storage.
8. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent allowed by applicable law, SoundStack is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To that same extent, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including loss of data, profits, or opportunities arising from use of the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer protections.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the service or an account email. Continued use after updated terms take effect is subject to those terms, where permitted by law.
10. Contact
For support, questions about these terms, or reports of content that violates your rights, email support@soundstack.studio.
